Introduction to Camera Health and Safety

This is obviously the most important part of equipment that we will be using during our film, during the lesson we got taught certain things such as focussing, zooming, recording and playing back footage.

This is a tripod and this enables you to shoot from different angles and heights while keeping the camera perfectly still.

Whilst we were in the lesson we got an introduction on how to use the cameras safely and use all the different functions. One of the mot vital things was to keep the camera dry and protect the lens from intense sunlight because all these things would damage the video camera. we were also taught how to insert the memory cards into the correct place and how to take them out. We learnt how to put the camera on the tripod properly and how to take it off properly aswell. We practiced filming, changing the focus and switching the cameras off and on.

Analysis of 9 shots from Art of the Title Sequence

I think that the style of the title has a funky loo to it which would relate to a wide audience in terms of marketing what it is selling. The colors are very bright and sands out to me, if i was on a street and i saw this, i would instantly look to go and see what it is all about.

On it, it has the title of the sequence which is called 'Archer' and the people that helped take part.

Most of the shots that are included is Medium shots and Close up shots which helps us look at what the sequence could be about.

The Match Cut Exercise

As part of our match cut practical exercise we had to produce a short clip including a match cut and a shot reverse shot, by doing this we gained knowledge of how to create a match cut and understand how to produce it accurately.
when doing this clip we had to stick to the 180 degrees rule, so everything looked in proportion, i personally think that are group achieved this really well because of the amount of detail that was shown in the clip, also when yolande was filmed going through the door and and shutting the door behind her was very smooth and had no faults.
Also when there was a over the shoulder shot of me giving yolande the paper work it became more realistic, which made are final clip very successful.
We went over the clips over and over again and made sure it looked correct, are whole entire group were dedicated and wanted to make sure that we made all the requirements and i do think are whole group achieved that aspect of the match cut and shot reverse shot in are short clip

The Match Cut Excercise

As a part of our practical we had to be able to produce a short clip including a match cut, in that sense we had gotten knowledge of what a match cut was and how we would be able to put it in our final product of our 'Horror' sequence.

By doing this short clip we also had to abide by the 180 Degrees rule as aposed to making eveything look accurate. We also added in a shot reverse shot as a part of our sequence which made the finishing edit look realistic in a sense of acuaracy.

In my opinion i think that our finish clip was successful in a sense that, what we had planned on paper was what we actually done. for instance in the beginning when i opened the door, we had to cut a bit of the bit when the door opens so it equals to the door opening from the front, infact if we had not edited the clip the way we had done so, it would not have been in proportion. In that sense it all went good for us.
Another thing that went good for us was the over the shoulder shot when Annabelle was talking to me. i think that fitted in very well for us because it made it look much more realler when she passed me the papers.

I think that we all met the requirments of what the teachers wanted to do, because by watching the sequence, we wernt able to see anything wrong with the editing.

Skills Audit for Soundtrack

I opened sound track pro and then I clicked the search tab and then the first sound I used was the "Cowbell with big verb" sound effect and I was going to use this as my basis for all of my other sounds and sound effects. I then went to the violin tab and chose "Contemplative synth", i chose this to give the music an eerie sound. I put a scream at the end of it to finish the piece.

Skills audit soundtrack

In lesson we learnt how to use soundtrack pro, i clicked on soundtrack pro which lead me into the process of editing music using different genres.
I went on to click on untilled were i dragged music from the music dash board to create a upbeat fast tempo soundtrack using drum and base electric guitar sounds to put on the canvas window. I was able to experiment different elements and explore the wide range of genres, it provides a lot of detailed compostions which allowed me to pick from a wide range of themes.

Skills Audit for sound track

In class we had a practice of how to make our ow soundtrack to add to our movie instead of using copyrighted tracks, this all gives us a taste of how the whole editing field feels like .
first of all we looked at the bottom left side of the screen and looked for all the sounds, all of these sounds are separate in order to put together a large sequence which will continue as a track to add. to do this we then dragged what sound we wanted on to the timeline, by doing so we could shorten f make the sound longer, adding different types to it which created a nice flow

Location Shots

This is the location for the opening of our for our thriller film 'Demented'. On first view of these pictures do not seem like an ideal location for a horror thriller but using lighting and other mies en scene we got the balance right and out opening came out looking just right.

Poland issues EU arrest warrant for suspected Auschwitz sign thief

I believe that this will make a good legal thriller because it is already a controversial issue and it will have the audience hooked on the storyline instantly. The movie could show the build of the sign being stolen and what happened to it.
